What Causes Spot Vaginal Bleeding?

Hello my younger sister who is 33 yrs old has recently gotten over her period and has also recently has had a pap smear in which the Dr noticed some light bleeding but did the test anyway and shes concerned bcuz shes been spotting but has no pain- WHAT COULD THIS BE FROM??
