What Causes Spotting After Having Intercourse?

I was recently on my period. I was spotting brown (which usually happens at the end of my period), I had sex and my period started spotting red again. Is this a cause for concern? I have had sex during final stages of period before and this has never happened. I am 34 and 135.5 pounds
