What Causes Spotting After The Regular Menstruation?

i had a pireod last week but for the last couple of day i have had little dip of blood but that didnt bother me but then when i got up this morning i got out of bed and walked to my draws and blood just ran straight down my leg i was just wondering why this has happened and if it is normal?
