What Causes Spotting And Slimy Skin-like Discharge?

hi, i had a baby april 26 of 2010 and i wa taking the pills to not get pregnant but i changed to the ijection. i just got my period (ithink....or maybe spotting) and something came out that i hade never seen before. it was slimy skin-like tissue...what is it? is it normal?
