What Causes Spotting Even After Menstruation?

I am 49 years old and had a menstrual cycle beginning march 9th.. after the 4th day I have been bleeding sometime.. not always when I use the bathroom. Not always but this is beginning week 3 and I still bleed lightly... a normal color ..but this has never happened to me.
