What Causes Spotting To A 8.5 Year Old?

My 8 1/2 year old daughter started spotting a little especially when she goes to the restroom and pees then like a drop or 2 of blood come out as she is sitting on the toilet seat. What can be causing this? I think she is still to young to be her period. I'm just worried and concerned. Help please
