What Causes Spreading Of Bruise From Shin To Ankle After An Injury?

My daughter six days ago smashed her shin on a table and a soft ball sized lump appeared. So we went to the e.r for exrays and they said no bones were broke my question is it s been six days and the bruising is starting to spread from the front of the shin to the back of the calve muscle and down the front to the ankle and the bruising is a dark black color.also she is saying that the pain is coming back?
