What Causes Stabbing Headaches?

my 16 year old is having stabbing headaches on the right side of her head around her ear for four days now. they come and go and are temporarily relieved with excedrine migraine. they happen during the day and go away at night. Pain is relieved by pressure or pulling hair. should I be concerned?
