What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Vagina After Intercourse?

Hi, I am 23 years old and about 6weeks ago I had a tumor removed from my right ovary and also my right ovary was removed. About 2days ago my husband and I had sex for the first time and everything was fine. But last night we had sex and we had to stop because it was hurting me. I was having horrible stabbing pains in my vagina and cramps in my stomach. I had to take a pain pill it was that bad!!! Is this just from the surgery or is something wrong?
