What Causes Staph Infection After Vaginal Hysterectomy?

my dr. said i am growing strep infection after they swabbed my surgical area after a vaginal hysterectomy 4 weeks ago . what casues strep i would understand staph but strep. They also said i had a white spot on my bowel (thought maybe they touched it r gonna redo cat scan to see if i am leaking) other wise said i had slow moving bowel
