What Causes Sting While Urinating?

I know I am not pregnant I had my last period a week ago and have not been sexually active, plus I'm on birth control. However when I got pee I experience a very slight sting (not all the time) and when I wipe there is a tiny amount of light pink blood it looks like. What is this?
