What Causes Stinging Feeling In The Bottom Eye Lid?

just rubbed my eyes and the right bottom lid gave me a stinging feeling...checked a mirror and I saw a bump....not discolored.....wonder if I should pick up an eye wash or something from a pharmacy? if there is a charge I decline.
