What Causes Stopping Of Bleeding On Insertion Of Tampon?

I had an IUD for 2.5yrs and stopped having periods immediately. I just had it removed and 3 days later I started bleeding. Each time I start to bleed I insert a tampon and the bleeding stops for 3 days then restarts. I insert a tampon and it stops, and so on. I ve never had this problem before and I don t know what s wrong.
