What Causes Stress In Neck, Hoarse Voice, Choking Sensation Post Thyroid Surgery?

4 & 1/2 years ago I had 2 surgeries. 1st to remove partial thyroid, 2nd to remove complete thyroid, parathyroid, some neck tissue, being cancerous . Since then I have a tight stress on my neck and vocal cords resulting in a deep gravelly voice. When coughing or sneezing, sometimes resulting in a choking feeling, unable to swallow with out pain. I have passed out for more than a minute and unable to move for several minutes, a cold clammy, feeling with a ringing in ears. Could this be somehow related to the surgeries and if so I do I control it.
