What Causes Stringy White Growth On The Tongue?

Hi i just had a question about my tongue. Yesterday there was what appeared to be a vein that had broken or something because I could move it with my teeth and it was all stringy but today its just a white dot/small stringy type thing. any idea you know what that is?
