What Causes Strong Metallic Odor From Nose?

I was blowing my nose the other day and as I took my breath there was a very strong metallic odor. It went away after about a day of suffering. Switching from breathing in through my mouth and nose. It came back this morning as I bent down. Any ideas?! It's driving me insane!
