What Causes Strong Odor From Vagina?

I used a tampon for the first time. I didn t leave it in any longer than 4 hours. I I m no longer on my period and I m now exexperiencing a funky smell. What could I do about the odor. It doesn t smell like fish or garbage. Just unpleasant in my opinion. I have a dr appointment in two weeks I don t want To wait that long.
