What Causes Stuttering And Uncontrollable Motor Skills In A Child?

my 4 year old granddaughter has started stuttering and running into things. At what age does stuttering show its self. There is a family history of stuttering. Should we be concerned and have her checked out and if so by which kind of Dr.? Or can this just be a normal part of her development?
