What Causes Sty In Eye Along With Blurred Vision?

Can steam damage my eye vision? Recently, I woke up with a rather large sty over my right eye. Initially, I attempted to self-treat it by using warm compresses over several days. I also used the steam from a micro-waved hot cup of water. I did this twice before I decided it was too uncomfortable. With the steam as well as the compresses, I closed my eyes. The steaming was very close, maybe ¼ inch away, from the closed eyelid. The sty persisted for about a week before I saw a doctor. I was then given some eye-drops and that did the trick. Since then, the vision in my right eye has been blurry. It s been over 2 months now and it remains blurry. Do you think the steam damaged my eyesight?
