What Causes Sudden Blindness After Diabetic Retinopathy Laser Surgery?

Hello, I am a type 2 diabetic who had laser surgery for diabetic retinopathy. I was doing fine for a couple of months but woke up one morning and could not see. After one week, I saw a different doctor than the one who did my surgery and was told I had a hemmorage. I am wondering if I d seen the doctor sooner, would my eyesight have been saved because I am now blind. Was time of the Essence? I had perfect vision after the surgery. Thank you.
