What Causes Sudden Disappearance Of Bruise On Foot?

I had a bruise that appeared instantly when a cup fell from the cupboard and landed on my foot the bruise instantly appeared and was a dark blueish purple colour but after about 5 minutes it disappeared and was replaced with a tiny red dot which was a fraction of the size of the bruise. why did it disappear when bruises usually take days to go?
