What Causes Sudden Loss Of Hearing With Nausea And Dizziness?

my husband experienced dizziness and nausea and sudden hearing loss all in one day. Steroids did not help and he is now completely deaf in his left ear. He is now expriencing tinitus and it is very disturbing. Can he be helped either with the deafness or the noise in his head.
