What Causes Sudden Numbness In My Toes And Feet?

I have, in the past few days, developed an on and off numbness in my toes and feet. More in my left foot than right. Today it has not stopped and feels like my pinky toe and the one next to it aren t there. There is a faint numbness traveling up my leg. All of my toes on the right feel like I ve dipped them into ice water.
