What Causes Sudden Pressure In Ears?

My ear feels like there is flood in it, occassionally. It is like a sudden rush against the inner ear wall. The ear canal is dry. My doctor looked in my ear and said it looked fine to him. It is getting more often. There isn't pain, but just a sudden pressure.
