What Causes Swelling And Burning Sensation On Hands And Feet?

My girlfriend has been getting swollen hands and feet..along with the swelling to her feet she has had rashes and burning sensation along with itchiness. I noticed she has been falling asleep earlier, quickly, almost suddenly. Has trouble breathing, allergic type symptoms..what could this be or what could be causing this?
