What Causes Swelling And Dizziness Of Throat Post Anterior Cervical Discectomy?

I had an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion of c6-c7 on Monday. My throat is still swollen and horse and I am still experiencing dizziness upon standing, usually when it is close to time to take my next pain med. When should I expect this to subside?
