What Causes Swelling And Itching On Skin?

Hi.. I am having a skin infection which started as itching.. now area is slightly swollen and skin keeps coming off.. every time I feel like its getting cured in that there is no swelling n area is no more red/blue, next day the new skin again comes off n area is red.. what could be causing it?
