In 1996 I had a badly broken leg, @ 4 inches above the ankle. The fibula was left to heal as it was set, the tibia had 3 rods ran down from the knee. It would not heal, a year later these were removed by another dr. And 1 rod inserted. After 2 years in 1998 it was decided to do a bone graft, when the break sight was revealed he discovered a tendon had been between the break keeping it from healing together. He cleaned it up and I have done well since, till lately. I have a very familiar pain in the break area, also swelling after I have been on my feet all day. The screws were removed but I still have the rod. I m very active and in good shape, now 61 years old. Thank you, Pam
