What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Palm?

I don t know what I did, but I was closing my van door (sliding door) with my left hand and after shutting it,I started having pain and burning sensation in the palm of my hand. My palm is slightly swollen and burns/hurts. My fingers feel real tight. I am icing it
