What Causes Swelling And Tear In Frenulum?

I was having intercourse with my girlfriend this afternoon, due to lack of lube, I believe I have torn my frenulum? Alot of blood was drawn, So I am worrying because it has now swollen abit, it's like a flap of skin at the top of my penis just above the eurin hole, please help?
