What Causes Swelling And Warmness In Hand After Been Bitten By A Dog?

Hello, i was bit by a dog on sunday went to the er, they cleaned it, bandaged it and gave me a tetanus shot. i have also been taking amoxicilin since monday. it is now 3 days later and the pain has lessened, but it is still swollen (since monday morning) and my hand is warm to the touch. i was told that could mean an infection but i have taken all precautions. is it too soon to worry? what are absolute signs i should have it looked at again? isn't it normal to have swelling right after? thank you!
