What Causes Swelling, Bruising And Acne In My Ankle After Accident?

I had my foot crushed in a revolving door when I was four, I am now 18 almost 19 and if i walk for more then an hour or walk up or down hill my ankle will swell, bruise and ache bringing me to tears. A few nights ago i had to be carried home as putting any weight on my left foot caused excrutiating pain. I haven't sprained it or injured it in any other way since I was 4. Should i go visit my doctor or just rest it?
