What Causes Swelling In Ankle And Foot Along With Numbness In Toes?

Hi. I ve had swelling in my right leg, ankle, and foot for over a year. My toes have recently stated going numb and the skin above my ankle has gotten dry and rough looking. I went last week to have a Doppler and the Drs office called today and said that I have leaky vessels and to keep my leg elevated and to watch my sodium. I ve been taking Lasix since the swelling started. Is this a serious condition, and is there anything else I can do to get rid of the swelling? Is there anything to fix this?
