What Causes Swelling In Ankle Behind Ankle Bone To Achilles Tendon?

i have had swellling in my left ankle on the outside right behind the ankle bone to the Achilles tendon. No swelling of the foot. There is quite. A bit of pain too. I have full mobility of my foot and ankle.Just seems like there is a knot there. It is very hard to the touch also
