What Causes Swelling In Face And Upper Lip?

Ok thanks, my mom is in nursing home at present, today her face and upper lip were swollen. Last time her upper lip was very swollen and they found out she needed blood transfusion... so I asked them to do a blood count on her... Is that a common symptom? To me even her face looked puffy... and eyes...
