What Causes Swelling In Labia During Sexual Intercourse?

i had sex with my usual partner yesturday but this time as soon as it went in it hurt and my left labia began to swell up n harden. we stopped and the swellng started to go down within an hour. but i looked down there and it looks red n puffy inside but it doesnt hurt.
