What Causes Swelling In Leg After Getting A Tattoo There?

I am giving you a little medical history first. I have high blood pressure in which I am prescribed medicine, however, haven't taken meds in about 6 months due to health insurance being cancelled. I saw a doctor last week for completely unrelated issue, in which he informed me that my right leg has no reflexes due to the siatic nerve being pinched by ruptured disk in llower back an ongoing situation over the past 3 years. My situation is this, I have extreme swelling of entire right foot all through my ankle up as far as almost mid calf. I had a tattoo done on my ankle 5 days ago and swelling has only increased over time. I have had a tattoo before in the same place and this did not happen, do you think I need to go to the emergency room now
