What Causes Swelling In Leg Along With High Blood Pressure?

I was in a car accident about 2weeks ago and a few days ago I noticed my feet and legs where swelling and tight .. I went to a occupational health clinic they checked my blood pressure it was 188/108 ... The doctor said that there was no way this could have been from the wreck ... Is that true
