What Causes Swelling In Tongue Along With Obstruction To The Airways?

Hi. I am 47 yrs old and will be undertaking a sleep study this evening. My sleep specialist mentioned that there is a condition for women of my age, where the tongue can swell, causing some obstruction to the airways and a sore tongue. I cannot recall the name of the condition, and would like to know. Can you advise the possible name for this?
