What Causes Swelling Of Mole And Surrounding Area?

ok so i have this mole on my face about half-way between my nose and ear on my cheek, yesturday morning i have noticed it had swelled up,

it's sore-ish to the touch and the area around the mole is sore aswell and swelled, i'm hoping it's not some sort of tumour or some sort of mole cancer, i had it checked out about 8 months ago and i'm not sure if it's just developing now.. please help.
