What Causes Swollen Labia Majora?

My 19 year old daughter has a swollen labia majora on the right side. She says it isn't painful, and has only become "slightly" itchy over the past few days. The swelling has been there for approximately 2 months. She is 5'6" and 145lbs. Very athletic and works out daily. She is in perfect health otherwise.
