What Causes Swollen Red Rash On Leg?

My left leg is red with a patchy rash between my knee and ankle. The calf is quite tender, as is the shin. It's swollen and warm to the touch. I do have recurring cellulitis , but this is not banded as the cellulitis usually is. What is my best course of action?
