What Causes Swollen Throat And Mucus In Ears?

I am not sure whether or not I should try to get in to see a doctor. My throat feels swollen and just aches. It is difficult to swallow. My ears hurt really bad as well - they have a dull ache and feel stuffy. My throat was bothering me so much that I woke up every hour last night. It almost feel like my ears have mucus in them and it feels like I may have post nasal drip.
