What Causes Tenderness In Left Breast?

I have been to the doctor for tenderness in the left breast this morning. She found a gland under the left arm. I am very worried and even stessed about it.
I had told her about 1 "hardness" in the breast and she found 1 more.
Its not painful in the breast but the gland under the arm is a bit uncomfortable.
Is it what I fear? Can it be? My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago and subsequently lost half her breast and had to go through chemo.
Do I need to worry?
