What Causes Tenderness In Upper Abdominal Region?

I am a 57 year old female and have Poland syndrome on my left side. It only effected my chest muscle and did not effect my left arm, hand or feet. Recently, I have started have pain in the upper hand side of my abdomen. It is tender to touch and my stomach hurts when it is pressed upon. Is this something that should be a concern?
