What Causes The Choking Of Food Along With Severe Cough?

Earlier today I choked on some food. It happens sometimes because I have vocal cord dysfunction. Today it caused me to go into a coughing spell resulting in electronic shock feelings in all of my upper bodace to my throat. I am still feeling something lodged a bit in my throat but not as irritating. However, I feel wiped out and as if I could start coughing again. I coughed a couple of small times today and still had a slight shock tingle but it was no where near the pain initially. What should I do?
