What Causes The Sac To Be Kidney Shaped?

I had an ultrasound today and my Dr. said he couldnt see an egg. My sac was not a circle it was more like a kidney shaped with nothing in between. What does that mean he kept asking me about if i am having an cramping . My blood came back all good blood levels were GREAT just visably it drew concerns.
