What Causes Thickening Of Uterus Lining With Family History Of Ovarian Cancer?

after a recent examination last year, i was advised that there was thickening of the womb lining. I am just 57, had my last period at 54 and my mother had treatment for ovarian cancer which she survived. Should I go back to the doctor to get further info/checks or am I worrying too much? Thanks
My height is 5ft 5in, weight 10st 4lbs and reasonably good health. Have not had any bleeding since last period but sometimes have low abdominal discomfort/pain similar to the mid cycle pain experienced during menstruation.
