What Causes Thicker Lips Every Time After Waking Up?

Hi my lips got thick everytime i wake up in the morning and I felt it a bit itchy and felt that it rips everytime i touch it. I apply lip balm unto it and it somehow suppress the little bulking. i have two canker each side of my lips. What does this mean? I dont feel anything bad. Its only on my lips. Thankyou
