What Causes Throat Pain While Tilting Head Backwards?

I was leaning on the back of our office chair, with my throat resting on the back bit, gently rocking back and forth while I was talking to my husband. All of a sudden I had this immense pain in my throat and in both of my ears. The pain in my ears has gone but now my throat feels funny and I can t tilt my head backwards without pain in my throat. I can tilt my head from side to side with no pain, but even when I press at the back of my throat it hurts. It kind of hurts to swallow as well.
